Mika Tan

Mika was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to an Okinawan/Taiwanese mother and a Japanese/Samoan father. She had five aunts and cousins on her mother's side who worked as models, three more who were musicians and a grandmother who was a Hawaiian/Japanese folk dancer and singer. Her father's side of the family is full of patriotic military service men and women or their dependents, including her older sister that was deployed with the US Marines to the desert of Iraq. As a "military brat", Mika traveled across the United States and parts of Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and North Africa before she attended high school. She attended college at San Diego State University and after switch majors several times achieved a BS degree in Biochemistry in 5 years. Despite this she did not enjoy the work as she was more of a "people person", and she worked in sales in the timeshare industry and eventually married a military man.

Mika did figure modeling for an art class and also performed as a housedancer while attending college to earn extra money while she was in college. She was actually scouted out at a gas station by an agent, before finally making her debut in adult cinema.

Initially Mika and her husband worked as a couple in making adult films, but when offers to work with other talents came in they both decided to try it. Unfortunately that made things "weird' in their relationship and they quit the porn business. However, this strain on their relationship eventually resulted in a divorce. Mika also suffered a 3rd trimester miscarriage during this period, which she describes as the worst of her life. She left the porn industry for a long time before finally returning, but feels that she is in a good place emotionally and spiritually.

Mika does primarily fetish-oriented work, including work as a dominatrix for the "Men in Pain" website, where her aggressive performances have made her a favorite. She classifies herself far more as a fetish model than a porn star - indeed, she declares that the porn star label shouldn't be applied to "any girl who has done less than 250 films". She also takes orders for custom videos through her website. And has recently completed filming an all-Asian adult film complete with Asian male talents, which is definitely a first in American adult film production.

• Mika was licensed as a Radio Disc Jockey in 1992.
